September 5 – During the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics, the ABC broadcasting team quickly needs to adapt from sports reporting to live coverage of the Israeli athletes who are taken hostage by Palestinian terrorists. Director Tim Fehlbaum reveals how he first heard of the 1972 tragedy that found Olympic athletes being held hostage by terrorists, and what his focus was in making September 5 — the film based on it. He discusses how closely the movie portrays the events and how incredible it was that the American media team sent to cover sports was suddenly able to get the scoop on what was actually happening inside the Olympic Village.
