National Cinema Day Canada Get $4 tickets! For one day only, all movies will be $4 across Canada and the U.S. for National Cinema Day 2023.

For the second year in a row, the annual National Cinema Day will be held on Sunday, August 27, offering all movies for only $4. With more than 3000 participating theaters, movies in all formats and showtimes are included — including IMAX and premium formats.

Last year’s event brought in an estimated 8.1 million people, making it the most successful day for theaters around the country. During a typically slow season for cinemas, the one-day event turned profits around, even with the low-cost tickets. The event is put on by the Cinema Foundation, a nonprofit affiliate of the National Association of Theater Owners.

"Following the rousing success of the first annual National Cinema Day, we welcome everyone to join us for the communal experience of one of America’s favorite pastimes — moviegoing," Jackie Brenneman, president of The Cinema Foundation said in a statement.

The sale applies to all films currently showing in theaters on Sunday — with the success of Barbie and Oppenheimer, theaters look towards a high turnout this weekend. The summer box office has risen to $3.8 billion in ticket sales, around 16.6 percent higher than this time in 2022. More films like Strays, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and new releases Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story, Dreamin' Wild and Golda will all be included as well.

"We look forward to gathering at the movies and celebrating an exciting slate of new releases and classics, from beloved family favorites and outrageous comedies to thought-provoking dramas and thrilling adventures. There’s something for everyone," said Brenneman. "Let’s all go!"

MAURICIO SORIANO, we are seniors and seen Mission Impossible movie last week. Be aware that the volume is extremely loud and we had to put our hands on our ears to try and block the sound. Unfortunately, it didn't help as the volume was still extremely loud. At our age we need to strain our hearing normally, but absolutely not in this case. The younger generation are going to be deaf listening to this kind of sound and also using their ear plugs all the time. The story was good and we'll watch the 2nd Part when it comes out on Prime or Netflix.
